Printmaking Workshop (1)(2)

Credits: 6

Type: Required Course

Introduction: A ‘fine art’ print, in its most basic expression, is a piece of paper where an individual has stamped an inked plate with a mark. This is the essence of the fine art print, but there's more, there's a history and a set of traditions to be mastered and learned. Printmaking is a major means of expression within fine art, however ‘print’ in all its many manifestations is central to all cultures, therefore all print media, from the ‘traditional’ to the new digital technologies are equally valid and the contents of this course will place focus on developing students’ potential as creative artists through the use of various traditional printmaking methods and techniques through workshop practice and formal lectures.
